Rules and Information
All applications must be emailed to Becky Teal by 1/5/2018.
Top 4 plans will be selected in two classes to compete for two $25,000 Grand Prizes:
- Small: less than 20 employees
- Large: 20+ employees
8 finalists notified by 1/12/2018.
Applicants must submit a marketing plan describing how they will grow their business in 2018 by 1/5/18.
- The plan must answer the question, “If I had $25k to grow my business, how would I use it?”
- Must include budget showing how the prize money would be spent
- Competitors will be divided into two classes, companies with less than 20 employees and companies with more than 20 employees
- As a part of their submission, members must submit a member/vendor plan, proving that they are working to plan at the next level
- Plans should not be vendor specific but may include details as to how they will work with their key vendors to be successful
- Members must commit to sharing their Marketing Plans with HTG and the Shark Tank and be in good standing with HTG
A committee will select 4 finalists from each class and will notify those 8 finalists by 1/12/18
- Finalists must prepare a 10-minute presentation to be given on Wednesday at the Q1 meeting to the Shark Tank
- Presentations should focus on the actions that will be taken to grow their business in 2018 (i.e. new website, events, marketing activities, etc.)
- Presentations should not be vendor specific but may include details as to how they will work with their key vendors to be successful
- Use of PowerPoint slides will not be allowed but other visual aids are encouraged
1 winner from each class will be selected and awarded based on:
- Presentation
- Strategy
- Likelihood of success
Winners must commit to:
- Execution of their plan and reporting back to the HTG community on the impact of their actions
- Quarterly blogs on marketing plan and success of efforts
