DALLAS – Jan. 18, 2011 – Today marks the start of HTG Peer Groups’ inaugural Leadership Forum, a two-day workshop for the management teams of HTG Peer Group organizations that are looking to strengthen their strategy development and execution skills. The Forum is the first of four quarterly gatherings where members participate in highly concentrated, interactive sessions focused on building winning skills around four key areas: strategy, people, team and leadership. Leading executive education organizations, such as the renowned coaching agency, Gazelle Systems, will facilitate these sessions.
More than 80 attendees representing over 50 companies – roughly 20 percent of the HTG Peer Group membership – have signed up for the program that was unveiled late last year during the Q4 HTG ALL meeting in Orlando, Fla. held prior to the ConnectWise IT Nation event. In addition to the structured sessions, participants will be grouped into smaller teams of three to four people where they will examine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) of their peers.
“You learn a significant amount on both sides of the SWOT table,” said HTG Peer Group Founder and CEO Arlin Sorensen. “Our members will be in a very different situation a year from now if they jump in with both feet, focus, put effort into this on a continual basis and truly make it a priority to address the real issues in their business and their life.”
Leadership Forum attendees are asked to not just show up, but to come prepared for heavy-duty strategizing by completing reading assignments and bringing their 2012 business plans. Agenda items also include presentations by Sorenson, Joe Frodsham, founder and principal of JBKF Group and Melissa Jackson of The Enrichment Center, a consulting and coaching organization. Topics of exploration will range from financial trends and corporate culture to employee recruiting, risk management and business development.
“When you join the HTG Leadership Track, you can expect to be inspired,” said Sorensen. “We come together as CEOs and work on positioning our companies for change and success. It’s about being proactive and creating a strategy for leveraging your company’s strengths in order to achieve the goals of the enterprise.”
Established in 2000, HTG Peer Groups is an international network of IT solution provider executives formed to collaborate and share business best practices. The organization now boasts 275 members worldwide that meet on a quarterly basis to build partnerships and exchange ideas. The newly formed HTG Leadership Track is a CEO-centered tier that will hold Leadership Forums on a quarterly basis. Additionally, Cisco Systems has joined the HTG effort to help sponsor the training and provide additional value to the attendees.
