IT industry’s first emergency-response program unites HTG Peer Group members and communities during times of crisis
HARLAN, Iowa, Oct. 4, 2011 – HTG Peer Group members affected by catastrophic events are one step closer to brighter days thanks to the generous contributions of Hands That Give sponsors like the program’s newest contributor, Zenith Infotech. Founded in May of this year, Hands That Give is the IT industry’s first emergency response program to offer financial aid and in-kind services to HTG Peer Group members following times of personal crisis or natural disaster. Since the program’s inception last May, eight companies have pledged their support across five donor categories including Visionary, Cornerstone, Angel, Benefactor and Humanitarian.
Zenith Infotech’s cash donation of $50,000 is one of the largest received to date, making this leading provider of Business Continuity and Help Desk Solutions one of Hands That Gives’ “Visionary” sponsors.
“Zenith’s support of the Hands That Give program is a natural extension of our commitment to help IT solution providers run better, more successful companies,” said Barb Burk, Zenith Infotech vice president of marketing. “Our interest in forging strong relationships with our partners goes beyond traditional business programs. We’re looking to engage with them on a human level. Hands That Give gives us that opportunity.”
As an example, Burk points to the aid provided to HTG members following the horrific destruction tornadoes brought to Joplin, Mo, in May of this year. Less than a week after the severe weather systems struck, a team of 17 HTG Peer Group members were on-hand to provide aid in helping member companies get back in operation. “That’s a situation where you simply want to offer assistance for the people within our channel community,” she says.
Arlin Sorensen, CEO of HTG Peer Groups and a founding member of Hands That Give, is delighted to have Zenith Infotech come aboard. “I’ve worked with the good people at Zenith for many years now in a business capacity, and I know from that experience what a superb addition they make to any list of sponsors. To have Zenith immediately step up to the Visionary level means great things for our organization and our charitable efforts. We’re blessed to see that kind of leadership within our growing ranks.”
Other Hands That Give contributors include: HP, Mitel, SonicWALL, Eaton, Intronis, Level Platforms and Microsoft. To contribute or to learn more about how you can help, visit www.HandsThatGive.net.
