Is Growth in Your Future?
As we move into the final month of 2012, I wanted to challenge you with some thoughts around growth. There are a lot of misconceptions around growth in general. For the most part, growth is a good thing, as long as it is planned, controlled and done well. But growth can also lead to collapse and disaster if not done well.
That is most true when the supporting structure and team is not prepared for growth. When the fundamentals of an organization, or the people who are to step up and lead it are not prepared – well growth can be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. You have to make the right investments in getting the company focused on the right things, and invest in the skillset of the ...

You Might Not Be a Leader
I'm sure everyone has heard Jeff Foxworthy's famous line: "you might be a redneck". He has created a business talking about things that define those who fall into that camp. Lessons from ANZ
I’ve been down here in Australia the past week now. It has been a whirlwind of a time as we have completed one SWOT, three peer group meetings and participated in the ConnectWise user group. Lots of partner interaction and literally dozens of hours sharing content and participating in discussions and learning. As is usually the case, I am confident I have learned more from my participation than those I was supposed to lead and train. That is usually how it goes for me – the teacher gets taught and this trip has been filled with that kind of lessons thus far. One more week to go, so I may well have another blog to follow this one, but here are my initial lessons from down under in Q3 2012.

The Power of Gratitude
As we celebrate this Thanksgiving Holiday, and move quickly into Christmas mode, let’s be sure we take time to be grateful for all the good things that we experience every day. Far too often we go through life taking the important things for granted and focusing on the little things that aggravate us. We miss giving thanks for the 98% while we are consumed by the 2% of our patch that isn’t what we want. Here are some ways you might reverse that thought pattern.
Attitude is a choice. Gratitude is an attitude. We can quickly see that gratitude is a choice. So how do we make it the normal response in our day – the moment by moment way we can live a life of gratitude.
Stop worrying about the...
