Learnings from the Trenches
Over the past six months or so, I have performed a dozen SWOT visits to HTG member companies as part of our HLG consulting relationships. Make them a goal to accomplish as you set your quarterly goals. But working on these areas can make a significant difference in your company.
The bottleneck is at the top. I’ll start by being blunt and honest. The barrier to growth for m...

Winding Down Q1 - What's in Your Wallet
We are quickly coming upon the end of Q1 – down the last few days to try and complete those pesky goals we have set. Of course, that assumes you set some, and they were measurable and are due by the end of the month. That is probably the first thing we need to address. Do you have your goals set with due dates and timelines, and if they spread multiple quarters – with milestones as check in points?
There are lots of reasons we miss hitting our goals. Let’s consider a few of them and if they apply to you – now is the time to make corrections. You don’t have to wait until January 2012 to make adjustments. In fact, goals are a very living and breathing target and we have to make course c...
