Upcoming HTG Events #2 - HTG Leadership Track for Q3
This is the second post in a series that will cover the upcoming HTG events for the second half of 2012. We are excited to be executing around a number of areas the HTG Advisory Council recommended as next steps to take HTG deeper into our member companies. The first event - HTG Service Management Summit - happens August 16-17, 2012 and will occur in Omaha, Ne with a trip to the farm and HTG headquarters as part of the event. The purpose of this event is to provide folks who are currently in service management roles, or are potential up-and-coming service management leaders, the opportunity to hear from industry leaders around the topic of leading and managing people involved in service delivery.
The second event follows our fifth annual Weekend on The Farm (Aug 17-19) and is the Q3 session for the HTG Leadership Track. We began back in January in Dallas with a focus on Gazelles strategic planning, and continued in Q2 at HTG Summit with a day around understanding people. Now in Q3, we will be spending August 20-21 learning how to lead teams well. Tim Brewer, from Annitel in Australia, will be keynote speaker for our time. He will be sharing from the perspective of bringing together a number of smaller companies to create a large, publicly traded, MSP in Australia. Teamwork is always a challenge, but Tim has lived the journey of bringing people together to create a team from a number of parts. It doesn't get any more difficult than that.
The content for Q3 will be all things teamwork. How to create, manage, motivate, lead, structure and grow teams. As companies grow, teams become critical to help manage the company. It is a fallacy that teams just happen. Effective teams are intentionally created and structured for success. We'll not only talk about how, but we will have some time to experience teamwork and the dynamics that make it so difficult to execute.
This event is only open to HTG members who are part of the HTG Leadership Track. You are welcome to bring multiple members of your team to the event. Nailing how you utilize teams will be a critical success factor to your growth. You will see and hear from people who have done it, are doing it and will continue to do it. Not theory but practical results. Check out the current working agenda and get registered now. I look forward to seeing you in Omaha and on the farm in August............
