Peer Power Blog
This blog is about the power of peers in the IT space. It is designed as a place to share things I have learned the past 24+ years running a business as well as meeting the growing demands of business owners we experience leading the Heartland Tech Groups - a peer group network for IT business owners.

Service Management Summit - Sold Out - But Wait.....
The first annual HTG Service Management Summit has sold out. Thank you for your support and interest in helping grow leaders that can run the service arm of your organizations. We have an exciting event planned - http://www.htgmembers.com/ServiceMgmtSummit2012.htm.
But after some planning with our friends at Varvid, we are going to do something we have never done before. We are offering the content as a live webcast. Not only will you be able to listen in and join the event from anywhere you have an Internet connection, you will also be able to have access to the content for 30 days after the event. This is our first event broadcast live. To register for the webcast please go to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ServiceMgmtSummitWebcast and sign up today.
We tested the concept with the spouse track at the May HTGALL event in Dallas. That was really well done. In fact, they are so good we have posted all six sessions to YouTube. Check them out to see what a live webcast looks like. And share the links with your spouse - this is some fabulous content that is well worth the watch.
Session 1 - Finance 101 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLloZ12cy70
Session 2 - Business Valuations 101 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xw5XNF3hVZk
Session 3 - What Makes My Spouse Tick - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eyx80hu2POk
Session 4 - Legacy Planning - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFGMubsPVsI
Session 5 - Holding Your Spouse Accountable - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tf5SQT0zOCY
Session 6 - Being Married to an Entreprenuer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSEj9VlnEJk
This is our effort to begin to make content available to our peers across the country and around the globe who can't always fly someone in for a day or two of content. The Varvid team is well versed in delivering content via live webcast, so it will be a service we hope to be able to repeat with other events in the days ahead.
Get signed up now. The cost is the same whether you are attending the live event, or via webcast, but obviously the time and travel is gone. Webcasting is a rather expensive proposition, so participation in this initial event will give us an indication as to the interest. We believe there is a desire to have access to content without always traveling to an event. You'll vote with your fingers and give us direction on our hunch for the future.
I'm excited about the Service Management Summit coming up on August 16-17. I wrote about it on the HTG blog site http://www.htgpeergroups.com/blog/entry/upcoming-htg-events-1-service-management-summit.html and hope you will participate via webcast if you failed getting signed up for the live event. See you on the farm, either in person, or via the wire!
